Domino's selects GB manager as Americas lead

Domino's International has named the RND Freeport manager, Gary Guillaume, as its 2016 regional store manager of the year for the Americas.

The Grand Bahama native heads a team of 12 at the branch, and is the first manager from the Bahamas to receive the Domino's Global Award in this category.

Mr Guillaume beat out thousands of his counterparts in Canada, South America, Central America, Hawaii and the Caribbean to take the title. Born in Jones Town in Eight Mile Rock, he started working at Domino's as a customer service representative in 2014.

"Working for Domino's has been a life-changing experience for me," Mr Guillaume said. "Out of all of the jobs that I've had in the past, this has actually been one of the best. I can truly say that.

"What I like most about this position is that it is not limited. There are opportunities for growth, development and advancement. This job has taught me how to prioritise and focus on the most important values."

Gavin Watchorn, president and chief executive at AML Foods, parent company of Domino's Bahamas, added: "We are extremely proud of Gary, and are pleased that our international colleagues recognise the qualities he has always exhibited as a member of our local team.

"Gary exemplifies the vision that we have for all of our brands, and has demonstrated his committment to our goal of improving the lives of the communities that we service."

Domino's honoured Mr Guillaume with a month of celebrations during July, including a pizza deal in his honour, a live remote, lunch with his favourite local groups and charities, and a television and social media campaign focused on his role in the company.

Regional heads from Domino's International also travelled to the Bahamas to visit his store and present him with a plaque and prizes.

Domino's International Incentives programme was introduced "to recognise team members who consistently reach extraordinary sales and operational performance, and motivate others to reach the same level".

Domino's Bahamas operates 11 restaurants in the Bahamas, including two outlets in Grand Bahama.
