Fire at the Rand Hospital

EDITOR, The Tribune.

Too easy Minister - we need to see the report from the Fire Officer, before we throw this incident under the mat.

I ask some obvious questions - all kitchens of this kind are required to be inspected by Public Health and be certified. When was there an inspection, and also when did the RBPF Fire Officer certify the kitchen as safe?

News video do not seem to show that the facility had an automatic fire extinguisher system –- required for years for this type of kitchen – did it or did it not?

Fires in kitchens usually mean a build up of fat and grease. When last was the kitchen inspected? The build up is from a serious lack of daily maintenance.

It is too easy to talk things out the door or under the mat. My suspicion here is that The Public Hospital Authority, probably was in a breach of all kinds of Regulations, and lacked simple adherence to fire precaution.

The People want to k now - It is The People’s Time!
