Exploring the benefits of natural medicine versus pharmaceutical drugs will be the theme of Solomon's Fresh Market's latest health seminar scheduled in-store for this Saturday.

Dr Monique Thompson, the founder of Cornerstone Healing Institute, will facilitate the seminar. Dr Thompson is a physician trained in traditional medicine and natural medicine. She is a strong proponent of intravenous (IV) therapy, which claims that once the body has what it needs, it can heal itself. The event will take place at the Old Fort Bay store from 4pm to 6pm.

"Dr Thompson will be educating us on some of the benefits of healing the body through IV nutrition as it is the fastest way available to replenish chronically depleted nutrient reserves. Much higher doses of vitamins, minerals, botanical extracts, and organic products can be administered through this process, because nutrients are going directly into the blood, 100 per cent of the nutrients are immediately absorbed," said Naomi Grant of the Solomon's marketing department.

"Certain diseases, states or being unhealthy in general hinders proper absorption of vitamins, minerals and other accessory nutrients leading to deficiency syndromes, perpetuation of disease and overall poor health," she told Tribune Weekend.

"Due to a variety of factors, including poor dietary choices or a nutrient-depleted food supply, it is likely that important nutrients are not reaching your cells properly. Additional benefits can be achieved by adding higher amounts of key nutrients to the essentials formulation to address your specific needs."

Attendees will be guided through effective tips on making themselves and their families healthier during this latest seminar.

Solomon's past seminars, which have established a steady following, have included talks on cholesterol, diabetes, breast cancer, health supplements for weight loss, yoga, and block therapy.

"Each seminar incorporates healthy eating and exercise elements and usually centered on the products in our stores that can benefit the health and well-being of its customers," said Ms Grant.

"This topic is so timely because of the unhealthy state of our nation. We have so many rampant diseases that have plagued our lives, having been medicated with naturally assimilated, synthetic drugs that may provide momentary comfort, and unfortunately at the same time creating more complications resulting in harmful side effects and even possible addiction without cure. It ignites a vicious cycle of repeated expensive doctors' visits and prescriptions to help manage the side effects which creates an open door for more complications."

This is the reason why, she said, that Solomon's is encouraging people to attend the seminar to get real answers to the questions they have been searching for.

"Individuals will also learn how to get over sicknesses and prevent future illness by natural means. They will gain knowledge of how to live a full life with minimal disruptions of expensive, over the counter drugs and their harmful side effects. They will also learn what vitamins, supplements and healthy foods to ingest can give positive lasting results," said Ms Grant.
