AS CHRISTIANS prepare to embark on a new journey with the imminent start of 2018, a local church is hoping they step into the new year on solid footing and walking in the image of God.
Every year the Church of God of Prophecy Love Centre's fine arts department hosts its Christmas production to remind people of the true reason for the season and to inspire hope. This year's production will be no different.
Spearheaded by Samita Ferguson, the Winter production will be held this Sunday at the Love Centre on Ernest and York Streets beginning 7pm.
Entitled "The Hour" to reflect the times we are in, the production comprises young and old telling the story of Jesus Christ's majesty and His coming. The audience will have light moments of laughter as well as truths to ponder.
The production will feature singing, dancing, music and more. The cast is made up of friends and members of the Love Centre and the master of ceremonies will be Minister Pascal Saunders. Guest artists this year are Rashad Cunningham and The Dynamic Twins.
"The event is called 'The Hour' due to a birthing in my spirit at the beginning of this year," said Mrs Ferguson.
"Watching the world events and how things were transpiring around our country, seeing the death rates of just not the old but young, made me ever more aware that no one knew the hour when Jesus would come, but most important it was vital for one to be ready for the hour," Samita told Tribune Religion.
Mrs Ferguson said the production is special because audience members will get to experience the raw talent and synergy of a cast spreading the good news of love and bringing forth an awareness "to make it right" while here on this earth.
"The aim for this production is merely to bring hope and provoke people to enjoy the benefits and the promise of walking in the image of God," she said.
"Sometimes people feel that they have all the time in the world to make it right, when in reality time may have slipped because the hour passed and they did not maximise their time wisely while still on earth. Attend to be changed to be fulfilled and to be uplifted."
