Past and present members of the Transfiguration Baptist Church Choir joined voices last weekend as they celebrated at a special reunion concert.

Church member Ingrid Sears said to hear the singers all in one place was "breath-taking" and brought back memories for her of what was and what could be.

"The melodious sounds that emanated from the youth choir, the senior choir and the combined choirs reminded the audience of what a mighty God they serve; He has brought them from a mighty long way," said Ms Sears

At the event, choir members embraced the opportunity to engage with old friends and make new friends. Ms Sears said that the direction of Larry Stubbs, this group came together to praise and glorify the almighty God.

"Past and present choir members for the Transfiguration Baptist Church Senior and Youth Choirs culminated their reunion weekend with a special concert.

"Persons who left the youth choir joined in. Those who left the senior choir, joined their voices also. Those who sang with both choirs, sang with both choirs. Additionally, musicians who once attended the church like Aaron Neely, Michael Sands and Marvin Sands all returned to participate in the reunion concert," said Ms Sears.

The evening culminated in the choir singing "I Give You Praise", which earned them a standing ovation. They sent the audience home to the tune of "Are You Ready for the Coming of the Lord".

The church's pastor, ministers, officers and members are now preparing for Transfiguration Baptist's 90th anniversary on September 24. There will be more special events in the lead-up to the celebration of this milestone.

The public is invited to attend all events, as the church seeks to share the Gospel with believers.
