A 19-year-old man was charged with murder in the Eight Mile Rock Magistrate's Court on Tuesday in connection with the stabbing death of a 16-year-old male resident of the community.
Anthony Dames, of Beaconsfield, Freeport, appeared before Magistrate Gwendolyn Claude on the charge of murder. He was not required to enter a plea the charge.
The matter is in relation to the stabbing death on May 29 of 16-year-old Rudolph Livingston of Pinedale, Eight Mile Rock.
The prosecution indicated that it was expected to proceed with the matter by way of a voluntary bill indictment. The matter was adjourned to September 7 for trial.
Dames was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services (BDCS) until his trial.
Meanwhile in Freeport, a 23-year-old male resident of West Grand Bahama was charged with armed robbery.
Isaiah Walkine, of Holmes Rock, appeared before Magistrate Charlton Smith in Court Two in connection with an armed robbery incident that occurred on May 26. He was not required to enter a plea to the charge and the matter was adjourned to August 1 for a preliminary inquiry.
Walkine was remanded to the BDCS in New Providence.
