Celebrating the name of Jesus in high definition is at the heart of the week-long revival experience being held by two local organisations in Grand Bahama.

The launch on Monday at the Community at Heart Tabernacle's Church of God of Prophecy saw Bahamians all united "to make Jesus famous again".

Hosted and organised by the Fortified City and New Destiny Kingdom Centre Church members, the event's speakers include Minister Chadville Adams of the Church of God of Prophecy; Pastor Deric Fields of the House of Refuge, Kansas City; Pastor Cleopatra Williams of the Life Changers Ministries International in Nassau; Christopher Adams of the Fortified City, and Pastor Glenn Russell of the New Destiny Kingdom Centre.

The revival will conclude this Saturday morning with what organisers are calling "a massive baptism service" on Coral Beach at 7am.

"We are going to be baptising everyone who got saved and recommitted their lives to the Lord," said Pastor Russell.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the revival, the senior pastor said it is all in effort to bring persons back to Jesus.

"When we say Jesus in high definition, what we are saying is that for a long time we have seen that the name Jesus has been replaced in the church with other stuff, and we have not really been placing the value on what the name Jesus is. This event aims to bring back that value in HD in our lives and the churches," he said.

Pastor Russell said the revival was launched last year but almost immediately outgrew its initial space, which led to this year's collaboration with Fortified City - a move that afforded them the opportunity to advance their mission in a bigger and better way.

"Since kicking off on Monday, oh man, it was powerful. We had Pastor Cleopatra Williams and it was a massive deliverance and breakthrough. With the healing and breakthrough that happened, people had to be carried to their cars. Tonight is going to be another level again, and every night it is going to get higher and higher because when you talk about Jesus you can't talk about him and not talk about salvation, deliverance and healing," said Pastor Russell.

"Going to church is good, but then we have to see the power of Jesus Christ back in the church, especially through the younger generation that has been searching. All they are familiar with is tradition and religion, but we have come together as a base to dismantle that and to make Jesus famous again on this earth."

Among the remaining services to take place, Pastor Russell said he is looking forward to seeing more souls come to the Lord because there are so many Bahamians dealing with personal challenges right now.

"They are going through stuff and don't know why, but sometimes it just takes deliverance. We want them to know that there is more healing to come forth. It is very important for persons to continue to attend because what you have to realise is that what we are living in now in this season, the enemy is trying to everything in their power to keep God's people down. This conference is designed to show you what you can do and show you the power that God has, that is far greater than the power of the enemy. It's a place of hope that will give you a sense of directive. It is all about empowerment," said Pastor Russell.

The group's plan going forward is to take the event on tour to different islands of the Bahamas, bringing even more awareness to the name of Jesus.
