TWO men are recovering in hospital after they were shot in separate incidents on Tuesday night.
According to reports, the victim of the first incident around 9pm arrived at the Accident and Emergency Department of the Princess Margaret Hospital with gunshot injuries. He was treated and is listed in serious, but stable condition.
About an hour later, police say two men were fighting on East Bay Street when one of the men pulled out a gun. A man who was standing in the area was shot. He was taken to hospital where he is also listed in stable condition.
Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-991 and Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.
Police reported yesterday that 25-year-old Jason Cleare, of Faith Gardens, who was being sought in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident on February 18, turned himself into officers at the Police Traffic Department on Tuesday.
Officers from the Selective Enforcement Team took a man into custody on Tuesday and charged him with possession of dangerous drugs.
Shortly after 9pm, officers on routine patrol on Martin Street saw a man acting in a manner that aroused their suspicions. The man was approached, searched, and a quantity of marijuana was found in his possession.
