THE Bahamas Public Prayer Ministry is inviting the general public to join them for a time of worship as it continues with its 40 days of prayer and fasting.
Since last Sunday, the ministry has been hosting praise and worship activities in Rawson Square to lift up the nation and give thanks to God .
The prayer services will continue tonight with a special anniversary and a commemoration tomorrow night at 7pm. All Bahamians are encouraged to join in, especially to pray for the leadership of the country.
For three years, since May 2014, the Bahamas Public Prayer Ministry has called for and coordinated daily prayers in Rawson Square for the healing of the Bahamas.
“In times of calamity it is culturally normal for Bahamians to cry, ‘Oh Lord, have mercy!’ This is not bad; it is good that we realise as a people that God is the source for help and refuge to call upon, especially in times of adversity,” said Pastor Wilfred Adderley, Sr, chairman of the ministry.
“In the wake of more end time calamities, we need to stay in prayer, because earthquakes, tornadoes, flooding and hurricanes will multiply and be more devastating as they will also affect the Bahamas in the future – see Matthew 24; Revelation 6 and Job 38).
“God wants repentance and prayers of confession followed through with obedience for genuine healing to take place. He said in the days of King Solomon and He says to us today: ‘If my people which are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins and will heal their land’.”
Churches that will conduct prayer services tonight and tomorrow include Transformation Ministries and Creative Arts Ministries respectively.
