GOLF

FOURTEENTH CLUB

SUMMER SESSION

Fourteenth Clubs Golf Academy, headed by Georgette Rolle, is scheduled to hold its Summer Session June 19 to August 4 at the Bahamas Golf Federation’s Driving Range.

The summer session will be held for golfers between the ages of 5-17 years who want to learn golf or improve your golf skills in a fun environment with their peers. The cost for the event is $120 per week, but discounts will be given to families with multiple children attending the camp. Cheques are to be made payable to Fourteen Clubs Golf Academy.

The sessions will be held 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday. Interested persons are urged to contact Georgette Rolle at 828-4653 orb email info@fourteenclubsgolfacademy.com

BASKETBALL

BSC FINALS

THE Baptist Sports Council will conclude its 2017 Basketball League at the AF Adderley Gymnasium with their best-of-three championship series on Saturday.

The action will start at 1pm with game two of the 15-and-under final between the Eagles Nest and Macedonia. The Eagles Nest leads the series 1-0. The 19-and-under series will begin at 2 pm between the Eagles Nest and Independence Church of God.

The Eagles Nest advanced over Blessed Hope and Independence Church of God eliminated Macedonia. At 3 pm, the men’s series between the Eagles Nest and Macedonia will begin. The Eagles Nest won over Evangelistic Center and Macedonia got by Golden Gates in their respective playoff match-up. Game two in the series will follow. 

SOFTBALL

NPSA OPENING

THE New Providence Softball Association was scheduled to open its new season on Saturday at the Banker’s Field at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex.

But according to president Henry Dean, the opening will be delayed.

Instead, a meeting will be held with the teams this weekend to confirm the new starting date.

BAHAMAS RUGBY

NASSAU Renegades are slated to take on the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders 4pm Saturday at the Winton Rugby Centre.

​Bahamian International Referee

Congratulations to Jamaal Curry who became the first Bahamian ever to referee an officially sanctioned international rugby match last weekend.

He officiated over the North Caribbean Championship (Division 2) game between​ Turks & Caicos and The Dominican Republic in Providenciales. TCI won the game 24-15.

The Bahamas will play Turks next weekend (May 20) in Nassau and will travel to Dominican Republic on June 3.

DARTS

CLASS C SHOOTOUT

The Nassau Darts Association’s Class C Shootout is scheduled for 8pm tonight at the Tailgaters. Registration will take place from 7-7:30 pm.

The following 16 persons are invited to the shootout along with the winner and runners-up from last week’s Class D Shootout: David Neely, Alonzo Rolle, Ian Anderson, Henry Forbes, Dwight Inniss, Trudy Johnson, Samuel Jolly, Aaron Moss, Yannis Rouller, Otis Strachan, Jeffrey Thompson, Helen Sweeting, India Sweeting, Hugo Strachan, Barry Johnson, Anton Strachan, George Wong and Wilton Wallace.
