A MAN was remanded to prison yesterday after he was arraigned on firearm related offences.
Charlton Thurston, 37, appeared before Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans facing a count each of possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of ammunition.
It is alleged that he was in possession of a black Austrian Glock 9mm pistol and 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition without being the holder of a license or certificate to possess the items.
Thurston pleaded not guilty to both allegations and is scheduled to return to Magistrate’s Court on June 7.
He was remanded to the Department of Correctional Services in the interim.
However, he has the right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
