Calvary Deliverance believes in the power of prayer

THE leadership and congregants of Calvary Deliverance Church is inviting the general public to attend its fourth annual prayer conference next month.

The conference, which puts of focus on the power of prayer, will be held June 6 - 8 at 7pm nightly.

Understanding the significance of unity is why the family of Calvary Deliverance is inviting all Bahamians to join forces. Speakers for the event include Apostle Brenda Pratt, Apostle Anthony Chisholm and Apostle Reno Johnson.

"Realising whatever man attempts without God will undoubtedly fail and never succeed...we the gatekeepers under the leadership of Pastor Lena Pratt, conference host, know that even sound doctrine, if it is without Christ, is still not acceptable to God.

"As believers we do not fear the fire of hell, but we should fear the fire of heaven because all of our attempts to make church happen will be tried by fire," a statement by the church said.

The church expects great insight, wisdom and power to be released after believers join together for the conference.

"The body of Christ must make prayer a priority to gain strength and become fruitful. Basic scriptural principles such as unity, genuine love, forgiveness and service must be evident. Although prayer, evangelistic and revival meetings seem trite and old-fashioned, they are a much needed commodity for our daily lives," the church said.

"Yes, there is hope for all of the challenges we face. When we gather for prayer and invite the Lord Jesus Christ in and under His authority only we can be restored, resolve conflicts and the ills facing our country today. Welcoming His presence is the only way for our churches and families to enjoy something of the life of heaven here on earth."
