OFFICIALS apprehended eight Haitians who were reportedly residing illegally in Grand Bahama.
A Department of Immigration official reported that seven men and one woman were discovered in the Freeport and Pinder's Point areas.
Immigration officer Napthali Cooper stated that the persons taken into custody admitted to arriving in the country illegally by boat from Haiti within the past several months.
He said they were taken to Department of Immigration headquarters where they were processed, and later flown to New Providence, where they will be detained at the Detention Centre to await repatriation to Haiti.
