In Judges 6, we find a great biblical example of God’s supernatural victory plan working against all odds. In this passage, we can see how God’s plan defiles natural circumstances, but it brings victory every time.
The story is about a fellow named Gideon. The angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon to deliver a message to him from God.
The angel told him that God had chosen him to deliver Israel from the Midianites. The angel called Gideon a mighty man of valour.
In the natural world, the angel’s greetings did not seem to fit Gideon at all. Gideon did not think of himself as a mighty man of valour.
In fact, he really did not agree with God’s choice of him as Israel’s deliverer. Indeed, when the angel came to speak to him, Gideon was hiding out behind the wine press, threshing wheat so the Midianites could not see him and steal the wheat. He was not acting much like a mighty man of valour; he was scared and in hiding.
Gideon told the angel he was the least of the least in the entire tribe of Manassas.
It did not look like Gideon was an anointed mighty man of valour.
He did not even feel like an anointed vessel. He seemed weak; weak and inadequate to do what God said to do, to lead his people to victory.
God showed Gideon what he would become under the anointing of the Holy Ghost. In himself, Gideon was like you and I, but with the power and the anointing of Almighty God on his life he was invincible.
The same is true in your and my life; we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
It does not matter what other people think about us. Maybe we have been held in bondage by other people’s opinions of us, but all that counts is what God says about us. When God and you are a team, you can accomplish anything by His mighty power and anointing at work through you.
Remember, God does not intend for his plan for our lives to fail.
If we obediently follow God as He shows us His victory plan, know beyond any doubt that God will cause His plan to succeed. We will walk in the victory that is ours in Christ.
