RAQUEL PINDER'S Beauty Beyond Feelings organisation recently delivered yet another sold out show - hosting a "Dear Future Me" themed conference at the British Colonial Hilton.
As the owner of her very own hairstyling company, Styles By Kelly P, Raquel has used her platform for many years, hosting events with hopes of inspiring, uplifting and motivating women to be beautiful beyond their feelings. The entrepreneur enjoys singing, writing poetry and is very passionate about ministry and women's empowerment.
"Beauty Beyond Feelings is important because there are so many women who are going thr ough so much and don't have an outlet for all the emotions they often hold in. Some of us are up to our necks with bills and have allowed how we feel about these situations to dictate how we act. This movement is that positive change for the Bahamas. We are all about giving back," said Raquel.
At the recent event, Bahamians enjoyed a long evening of inspirational and motivational speaking presented by names like Naijie Dun taking on the topic of "Faith Walking," Aneka Stewart speaking on "Purpose," Shakeisha Johnson touching base on "100 Days of Singleness," Xavia Rolle on "Entrepreneurship," Marcus Laing sharing tips on "Knowing Your Brand," and Niandra and Kenard on "Balancing Marriage and Family Business."
Activities also included a Mix and Mingle and the signature Beauty Beyond Feelings Rap Battle segment, hosted by Raquel and Bahamian Gospel artist Ruebin Heights.
"The feedback I received was very positive. People loved the fact that each panelist brought different experiences and gave much needed encouragement. They raved about the Mix and Mingle that took place before the panel discussion, which gave them an opportunity to network, partake in a few games and win a few prizes," said Raquel.
For Raquel, the highlight of the night was a surprise presentation to Mark Cartwright, Founder of the FamFest organisation and owner of Forsythes Communication. Raquel said Mr Cartwright has supported the Beauty Beyond Feelings organisation from its inception and she is indeed grateful.
"The goal was to enlighten, empower and generate conversations that would motivate attendees to take the risk, know who you are, be confident in what you believe in and walk in faith and at the event this goal was met," said Raquel.
With hopes of carrying on the Beauty Beyond Feelings mission, Raquel's club activities will continue at the St Anne's School going forward for the remainder of the year. In 2018, the organisation will recognise and celebrate its 10th annual event.
