UB Mingoes ready for double header this weekend

THE University of the Bahamas Mingoes men's basketball team are all set to play a double header this weekend at the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium against the visiting Florida College Falcons.

The Mingoes and the Falcons are scheduled to clash at the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium at 8pm on Friday and again on Saturday at 7pm.

The Mingoes are coached by Bacchus Rolle, assisted by Lavar Johnson. The team is comprised of the following players:

• Ramon Dames is a 5-10 point guard. The sophomore out of Eight Mile Rock in Grand Bahama is a physical education major.

• Justin Smith is a 5-11 guard. The junior out of Life Christian Academy in Canada is a physical education major.

• Kimsy Sylvester is a 6-4 forward. The sophomore out of South Broward High School in Hollywood, Florida, is a physical education major.

• Justin Munroe is a 6-7 centre. The senior out of Sir Jack Hayward High School in Grand Bahama is a physical education major.

• Ujamaa Johnson is a 6-0 guard. The sophomore out of Kingsway Academy is a business major.

• Rashad Sturrup is a 6-4 forward. The junior out of SAC is a business management major.

• Jason Stubbs is a 5-11 guard. The junior out of Tabernacle Baptist Academy is an electrical engineering major.

• William Brown is a 6-5 forward/centre. The freshman out of Sunland Baptist Academy is a mechanical engineering major.

• Javares McIntosh is a 5-11 guard. The freshman out of Sunland Baptist Academy is an electrical engineering major.

• Brian Jennings is a 6-2 forward. The sophomore out of CV Bethel Secondary High is an architectural engineering major.

• Christoff McKenzie is a 6-2 guard. The freshman out of St Louis Christian Academy is a computer information system major.

• Timothy Grant is a 6-5 forward. The freshman out of Hope Academy is a physical education major.

• Donovan Dean is a 6-3 guard. The freshman out of Arlington County Day is a business management major.

• Romero Cornish is a 6-4 small forward. The freshman out of Sunland Baptist Academy is a tourism management major.

• Daniel Hall is a 6-0 guard. The freshman out of Charles W Saunders High School is a marketing major.

  • UB students will be admitted free with their identification to cheer on the Mingoes, while adults will be charged $5 and children under 12 will have to pay $3 each night.
