WHAT started out as a casual gathering of friends has now blossomed into movement anchored by a mandate to fill the world with the knowledge of God through music and worship.
This movement, Denczil Rolle and Friends, will host a live concert tomorrow night and at the same time record its second album featuring the group's take on hymns that have become synonymous with the Bahamian Church over the years.
The concert and live recording will be held tomorrow at Evangelistic Temple starting at 7pm.
The Denczil Rolle and Friends group emerged in 2013 out of a fundraising project initiated by the LIFE Worship Centre which was led by Denczil Rolle. During the second of three rehearsals held in preparation for the concert it was decided that the event should be recorded, and in April of 2014 the group released their debut project entitled "Back To Hymn: The Worship Experience".
Since its inception, Denczil Rolle and Friends has made its mark on the local music scene, both in the gospel and secular arena. The group is constantly asked by the government to feature at state events, island festivals throughout the archipelago and concerts of all magnitudes.
They have shared the stage with artists such as Tye Tribbett, Deitrick Haddon, Canton Jones, J Moss, Stephen Hurd, Maranda Curtis, Benita Jones Marvin Sapp William Murphy and Tasha Cobbs Leonard, and were honoured to sing along with multiple Grammy Award-winning country musician Shania Twain.
Denczil Rolle and Friends has now evolved into a movement driven by the mandate of Habakkuk 2:14: "For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea."
"God has favoured this ministry to see numerous documented reports of healing, deliverance and salvation through the music and ministry of Denczil Rolle and Friends," the group said.
"(We) have undertaken an even greater mandate in imparting what we have received to the next generation of worship leaders through a conference series entitled, 'Unleashing the Glory'."
For Denczil, Delton, Keith, Eunice, Yasmin, Dwayne, Juliann, Risnel, Chandra, Vera, Albert, and Mericha, the group has been a humbling call to something greater, something orchestrated by God for the manifestation of His glory.
Tickets for tomorrow's concert are $10 per person and can be purchased at the church office, Eye Candy Makeup Store and Catwalk Boutique.
