Woe to the bloody city

By MINISTER KEITH EVANS

Thinking about the lives that were taken by the criminal element in our nation’s capital really hits home to the very core of my soul.It is absolutely incumbent upon every child of God to take a stand and to diffuse the fiery darts of the wicked one.

The Devil has swooped down on our young men with killings, violence, murders, rapes, and other immoral acts. These young men are arbitrarily carrying out the sinister acts of Satan to destroy our very own selves. Our forefathers built a nation under God with Christian values that were impregnable and. Oh Nassau, God is calling you back to Him!

The colossal violent insolence that is being carried out by our young people is totally unacceptable. We need God! All of the churches in Nassau need to bombard the streets in the mighty name of Jesus and declare an all-out war on Satan’s domain. This is by no means a dissertation or thesis, but a godly clarion for holiness and biblical revival. After hearing and reading of the double homicides of the young man and his female companion in Nassau it is conspicuously clear that something is significantly wrong.

Nahum 3:1-4: “Woe to the bloody city! It is full of lies and robbery. It’s victim never departs. The noise of a whip and the noise of rattling wheels, of galloping horses, of clattering chariots! Horsemen charge with bright sword and glittering spear. There is a multitude of slain, a great number of bodies, countless corpses. They stumble over the corpses. Because of the multitude of harlotries of the seductive harlot, the mistress of sorceries, who sells nations through her harlotries, and families through her sorceries.”

Nahum obviously was preaching about the coming destruction that Almighty God was about to rain down on Nineveh. God was making Himself an antagonist to the recalcitrant people, who were immoderate in their sins. Their acts of lawlessness were irrefutable to say the least.

This here reminds me of the prolific violence in New Providence. I have to call it for what it is. God spared Nineveh by the revelation of Jonah coming out of the big fish before their eyes. But some 150 years later they had reverted back to their old lifestyles. Now God was about to act. Woe to the bloody city!

God is tired of the murders and bloodshed in our nation, and in particular in Nassau. We have churches on every corner and still no real change. God is calling for reforms. He is calling for justice! He is calling for us to decry this evil in our nation’s capital city. How many more parents and families have to grieve over their dead sons and daughters? God will have to act if we don’t get it right.
