A MAN was found dead with apparent stab wounds in his body on Potters Cay Dock Friday morning.

The victim appears to be in his early 40s, according to Superintendent Shanta Knowles, Royal Bahamas Police Force press liaison officer.

If designated a homicide, this would mark the 13th for the year, according to The Tribune’s records.

Supt Knowles said: “Shortly before 5am (Friday morning), we received a call that a man was found unresponsive at a stall here on Potters Cay Dock.”

“Officers, along with EMS personnel, came to this location, confirmed that the man was unresponsive, attempted CPR, but were unable to revive him.”

“He was pronounced dead on scene.”

Supt Knowles continued: “What we can tell you so far is that this man who appears to be in his early 40s has what appears to be stab wounds to his upper body.”

“No other information has been obtained at this time.”

“However we are appealing to persons who may have been in this area, particularly between the hours of midnight and 5am, who may have seen anything that can assist us with this investigation, to give us a call."

Anyone with information that might assist investigations are asked to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 328-8477 (328-TIPS), the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991/2, or emergency numbers 919 and 911.

Shocking, this happens in an area continuously plagued with crime and with CAMERAS on the poles AND with a POLICE STATION right on the dock !!!
