Workers from the Melia Hotel are fired, . .. ...... ..... If they are union ,embers then this will soon be mired, . .. .. In a tv and newspaper public debate, . .. . ... ... ... And talk show ghosts discussing their fate, ..... . .. .... The union president will beat his chest,, .. ... ....... ... ... Even the Minister won't give it a rest, ...... .. .... .. ... The head of some church will make some pronouncement, . . . ... While the labour director will have an announcement, ... .. .. .... Threats and clichés will profusely fall, .. .. ... .... ... Not sagely but soggy like rain from a squall, . ... . . ..... And when all the squalling is finally done, .. .. ...... .... .. Every persons had their say, every mouth has had it's run, . .. .... If visitors stop coming then workers gonna lose their job, . . . ... An economic fact of life mo matter how we sob.

So succulently put, but absolutely true. No tourists.......no jobs, no matter who says what.

Did they follow Shane Gibson's law requiring notice for mass layoffs ?

I think that law was for over 10 people being made redundant. So i guess it depends on the number

No matter what Shane says or said, if there are no tourists making reservations, reservations staff are redundant. No tourists equal no jobs, understood? Shane doesn't, and never will have jobs to give these people.

Have a feasible Bahamian or local rate. Many persons from the Family Islands and even New Providence would like the opportunity to stay at these hotels. Unfortunately the prices are exorbitant. Let us try to attract our own people.
