CABINET took a break and I suggest wasted their time visiting The Pointe site at the British Colonial as they did not discover that there are very, very few Bahamians working on the construction as we speak.
PM says 70% of the workforce has to be Bahamians - go to first floor of the garage and look down and reality will hit you if there are three-four Bahamian construction workers that is a lot. Yes, the drivers of the ready-mix trucks are Bahamian but they are sub-contractors of China State and do not count.
I totally agree with the writer Ms Pamela Burnside - the gross ugliness of the design of this hotel is extraordinary and sends a warning to me - God help us when the Symonette-Bethell group puts their proposal for the harbour front on their Tropical and east property. God help us!
Where is the Special Architectural Committee for the City of Nassau?
I don’t think this new design was ever put to the public by Physical Planning to comment - the design that was still ugly more inclined to copy the stern of a cruise ship and was so commented on.
Oh, Minnis-FNM taking credit for The Pointe now?
