A 34-year-old Grand Bahama man was arrested at the Grand Bahama International Airport for allegedly trying to smuggle a quantity of dangerous drugs to the United States on Friday.
ASP Terecita Pinder said the incident happened shortly before 5pm. She said officers were called to the US Customs and Border Protection Agency at GBIA where a man had presented himself for travel to the US, but appeared to be acting in a suspicious manner.
He was subsequently searched, and a quantity of suspected cocaine was discovered strapped to his body. He was arrested and taken into police custody.
ASP Pinder said the drugs had an estimated street value of $8,000.
