Saturday's motorcade launches 'all inclusive' prayer for the nation

BAHAMIANS are invited to bare their souls in a prayer for the nation during the National Prayer Motorcade this Saturday.

Presented by the Trinity City of Praise, this year's motorcade begins at Rawson Square at 6am.

Led by Apostle Ed and Prophetess Lee Watson, senior pastors of Trinity City of Praise, hundreds of believers, church and national leaders will meet at Rawson Square, to proceed on a motorcade around the island, while releasing prayers and declarations for our Nation. Crossing denominational barriers, affiliations and backgrounds, we will unite together with one spirit, one voice for one common purpose: to pray for our Bahamas.

Prayers will be released against crime, violence, murder, poverty and unemployment, and for peace, blessings, a strong economy and a safe hurricane season.

Leaders of the church said they recognise these are critical and challenging times in the Bahamas, but they believe God can heal and deliver the nation.

"When many Bahamians are searching for hope for the future, this prayer motorcade will offer encouragement that change will take place for a better Bahamas.

"The billion-dollar national debt, the VAT increase to 12 per cent, the controversial Cabinet shuffle and the astounding increase of the murder count to more than 50, these are the headlines that have been in the news over the past several weeks, bombarding the nation with one hit after the other. As a people we are being forced to face so many issues, and many are left discouraged, disappointed, confused and fearful about the future. The responses to these recent events are varied, but the general cry heard throughout the country is the desperate need for prayer," they said.
