Music is said to be the universal language and feature of the human experience. It transcends the barriers of language and creed. It is with this in mind that the famous Bahama Brass Band celebrates an historic accomplishment this year for the brass band ministry of the Church of God of Prophecy.

For the first time in its 93 years of existence and 62 years of recording, the Bahama Brass Band has incorporated vocals into its recorded tracks. The contemporary genre of praise and worship music has captured the hearts of many of today's church-goers with outward expressions of faith and continuous medleys.

The band has embraced this style with the help of a well-known praise and worship leader, Pastor Terrance Forbes, who is also a member of the Bahama Brass Band. His additions are two sets of Caribbean medleys which are heard on popular gospel stations. There are, of course, also the hymnal standards which the Bahama Brass Band has performed over the decades.

According to band's public relations officer, G Sean Gibson, this new album will appeal not just to fans, but to everyone who appreciates beautiful music.

Additionally, in just a matter of days, the Bahama Brass Band will make its appearance at the International Centennial General Assembly in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where it has been performing for the past 80 years.

The Bahama Brass Band is also pleased to announce the release of albums of two of its veterans: Dr Albert Ferguson and Professor Vanderson Ferguson, who had recorded their vintage albums many years ago.

The band is under the leadership of Brother David G Beneby, national band director and director of bands.
