The Bahamas Agriculture and Marine Science Institute (BAMSI) hosted almost 50 teenagers as part of its annual Summer Education Enhancement Discovery Series (SEEDS).
The campers learnt about various food sources grown and harvested in The Bahamas. For the second year, members of BAMSI's faculty and staff hosted the five-day summer camp for high school students. The programme attracted students from New Providence, Eleuthera, Long Island and Andros.
The summer programme is designed to expose students to the BAMSI college, its various programmes, and familiarise them with the scope of farm operations. The sessions are comprised of mini-lecturers, labs and field exercises in agriculture and marine science.
