A Bahamian man of Haitian descent was charged in the Freeport Magistrate’s Court yesterday with harbouring an illegal person.
Dorsilin Dormeus, 40, was arraigned in Court One before Deputy Chief Magistrate Debbye Ferguson where he pleaded guilty to the charge.
According to the particulars, on Friday, February 23, at Freeport, Dormeus knowingly harboured an individual without legal status at his residence on South Mall Drive.
The magistrate ordered the accused to pay a $3,000 fine.
Failure to pay would land him two years in prison.
