Emmanuel Gospel Chapel, located on Emmanuel Drive, will celebrate 10 years of ministry in the form of a community fun day this Saturday beginning 1pm.
This annual event is held on the church grounds in Malcolm's Allotment. It is a time for family, fun and fellowship as the entire church comes together to prepare and serve free meals to the members of the community.
This year the fun day will be named in honour of three outstanding and faithful leaders of the assembly: the late Elder Emeritus Joshua Sands Sr, the late Elder Emeritus Pembroke Smith and Elder Emeritus Frank Knowles.
During the mealtime there will be music and dance ministry. Other fun activities will include face painting, an Adventure Learning Centre puppet show, a three-point shootout contest, games and a bouncing castle for the children. A health booth, where blood pressure, cholesterol and sugar levels can be checked, will also be present. Additionally, there clothing and household item giveaways. As part of the church's main focus for the event counsellors will be available to assist those in need of spiritual guidance and prayer. All of this will be capped off at the end of the day with a Junkanoo rush-out by the Valley Boys. For more information, contact 361-2072
