THE Bommer G Lady Operators now find themselves in the driver's seat of the New Providence Women's Basketball Association.
On Saturday night at the DW Davis Gymnasium, the Lady Operators took a commanding 2-0 lead in their best-of-five championship series against the Lady Cheetahs after 64-58 victory. Game three of the series will be played tonight at 8 pm and it will be a do-or-die situation for the Lady Cheetahs.
In game three in 38 minutes and 45 seconds, Sherelle Cash shot 6-for-17 from the field, 3-for-9 from the three-point line and 1-for-1 from the free throw line for a game high 16 points to lead the Lady Operators in a well rounded game as she added eight steals, seven rebounds and seven assists.
Chrishandra Rahming chipped in with 14 points, 12 rebounds, three steals and a block shot and Briana Stevens helped out with 11 points.
In a losing effort, Brontae Riley had 14 points, shooting 5-for-13 from the field and 4-for-5 from the foul line with seven rebounds, two blocks, two steals and an assist in 33:50 in a losing effort. Shantel Rolle had 13 points, five rebounds and four assists and Anastacia Moultrie finished with 12 points, 16 rebounds, three assists and as many steals.
