TWO American men and two Jamaican women were arrested for failing to declare large sums of cash in separate incidents at the Lynden Pindling International Airport.

Both incidents took place on Friday.

The two American men, ages 25 and 31, were arrested after a US Border Control officer discovered they failed to declare the true amount of cash in their possession. They were found with $47,000 shortly after 4pm.

In the second incident, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers searched two Jamaican women at the domestic section of Lynden Pindling International Airport and recovered $17,805 shortly after 8pm.

According to reports, the women did not declare the cash to authorities.

Meanwhile, an American cruise ship passenger was arrested after police found a quantity of what was suspected to be marijuana during a search of her cabin.

Central Division Officers made the arrest shortly before 10pm while the ship was docked at Prince George Dock.

It follows the arrest of an American woman aboard the Carnival Elation cruise ship, after she was allegedly found in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana last week.

According to police, the foreign nationals arrested on Friday will be charged in the Magistrate's Court this week.
