IT seems as if the Bahamas Association of Athletic Associations could be facing some legal matters that will need to be resolved before the election of officers takes place on Saturday morning.
The Tribune has received papers that were presented to a special call meeting of the executives on Monday, November 12 at the Thomas A Robinson Track and Field Stadium, which showed that the BAAA was incorporated as a company on April 10, 2014 and lodged with the Registrar General Department on July 29, 2013.
Further, it was stated that “we, the person whose names and addresses are subscribed hereunder, are desirous of being formed into an Association in pursuance of this Memorandum of Associations,” as signed by immediate past president Mike Sands and Philippa Willie.
The documents were said to have been prepared by Drumeco Archer, the BAAA secretary general, who will be vying for the post of president during the elections on Saturday.
Efforts to contact the various individuals involved proved fruitless.
Incumbent BAAA president Rosamunde Carey also was unavailable for comments.
