Carey’s Fabric and Uniform Store on Saturday jump-started the holiday shopping season with a showcase aimed at fashionistas looking for new outfits to wear to this year’s Christmas parties and balls.
The first-time event was called Carey’s Rocks Christmas and displayed 14 Bahamian designers. Artisans were also present to show off their products, many of which were available for purchase.
The highlight of the event was an in-store fashion show which featured a stunning array of ball gowns and cocktail dresses. The aim of the event was to provide an avenue of exposure for talented local designers, resulting in even more patronage from the community.
The designers who participated were: David Rolle, Theodore Elyett, Javotte Bethel, Navado Dawkins, Apryl Burrows, Alicia Seymour, Rudolph Brown, Phylicia Ellis, Cedric Bernard, Brittney Woodside, Indirah Moss, Shadonna Smith, Kejuana Beneby, Nikki Johnson & Tanya Mitchell. Polka Dotz Fashion Boutique also showcased their Christmas and holiday line.
