WALKERS from around New Providence, Grand Bahama, Abaco and Eleuthera will be taking part in this year's CIBC First Caribbean Walk For The Cure Bahamas event on October 6.

The Caribbean Bottling Company (CBC) will return as a bronze sponsor to hydrate runners with Dasani water during the annual event.

"We are happy to be on board as a bronze sponsor for the CIBC Walk For The Cure event," said Nikia Wells, CBC marketing manager of communications.

"Our team is happy to do our part to increase breast cancer awareness in the Bahamas, and we support the goal of the CIBC race - to assist as many Bahamians impacted by this devastating illness as possible.

Wells added that the CIBC event is just one way that CBC is supporting Bahamian breast cancer awareness activities.

"We will also be returning as a gold sponsor of the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure 5k and Marathon Bahamas weekend.

"This will be our seventh year being a sponsor, and it is always exciting to see thousands of people from all fitness levels, age groups and backgrounds taking part, raising funding for breast cancer awareness and pushing themselves on race day."

The CBC team will keep walkers hydrated during the CIBC Walk for the Cure by handing out Dasani water to participants at the New Providence leg of the event, which will take place on October 6 at the Goodman's Bay Corporate Center. The walk will start at 6:30am.
