THE youth ministry at Christ the King Community held it first annual back-to-school prayer breakfast.
Students, teachers and parents started the new semester on the right foot during the time of worship.
There were special guests during the event, including guidance counsellor Joanna Hamilton, Nurse J Camille King, members of the CTK Dance Ministry and keynote speaker John Darville, youth officer with the Ministry of Youth.
According to Odia Richardson, youth director at the church, Nurse King reminded students of the importance of proper nutrition and shared tips on to how to become healthier.
"Students and parents also heard from Joanne Hamilton, who highlighted balancing study habits and making time for extracurricular activities." she said.
"The keynote speaker was John Darville who shared with the students the importance of living a Christ-centered life and that it was the key to being a success. He shared photos of his achievements within the public service and how his musical gifts have made room for him and afforded him travel opportunities across the globe. The morning ended with a prayer for the students and teachers led by Mr Darville," Ms Richardson told Tribune Religion.
Special prayers were offered up for those in attendance to prepare the students spiritually for the school year.
