GSSSA ACTION

THE Government Secondary Schools Sports Association will begin its softball for junior and senior girls and baseball for junior and senior boys 4pm today at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex.

• Here’s a look at the games on tap for today:

Junior girls - Anatol Rodgers vs LW Young and TA Thompson vs HO Nash.

Senior girls - RM Bailey vs CV Bethel and CI Gibson vs Doris Johnson.

Junior boys - Anatol Rodgers vs LW Young and TA Thompson vs HO Nash.

Senior boys - RM Bailey vs CV Bethel and CI Gibson vs Doris Johnson.

Games will be played every day during the week until Thursday, May 16. All make-up games will be played on Friday, May 17. The sudden death playoffs is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, May 20-21.

The best of three championship is scheduled to start on May 22.

JBLN ACTION

The 2019 Regular Season is winding down as JBLN completed week 14 this past week. With one week left in the regular season playoff positions are still up for grabs in a number of divisions.

Tee Ball - Pennant winner - Bears; Second place - Thunder Cats; Third place - Hot Fries.

Elimination Game - Hot Fries vs Thunder Cats - Wednesday at 5 pm.

Game 1 series - Winner vs Bears - Saturday, May 11 at noon.

Coach Pitch - Pennant winner - Rays; Second place - Cubs; Third place - Pirates.

Elimination game - Pirates vs Cubs - Wednesday, May 8 at 5pm.

Game 1 series - Winner vs Rays - Saturday, May 11 at 10 am.

10-U Minor - Pennant winner - Astros; Second place - T.B.D between Royals, Angels and Diamondbacks, all separated by one game. Third place - T.B.D.

Elimination game - Third vs Second - Tuesday, May 7 at 6:30 pm.

Game 1 series - Winner vs Astros - Saturday, May 11at noon.

12-U Major - Pennant winner - Athletics. Second place - T.B.D between Marlins, Red Sox and Yankees, all separated by 1.5 games. Third place - to be decided.

Elimination game - Third vs Second - Thursday, May 9 at 6:30 pm.

Game 1 series - Winner vs Athletics - Saturday, May 11 at 2:30 pm.

14-U Junior - Pennant winner - Dodgers. Second place - T.B.D. between Orioles, Indians and Phillies - all separated by 1.5 games. Third place - to be T.B.D.

Elimination game - Third vs Second - Wednesday, May 8 at 5pm.

Game 1 series - Winner vs Dodgers - Saturday, May 11at noon.

15-O Senior - Pennant winner - Rangers. Second place - Brewers. Third place - T.B.D. Braves hold a 1 Game lead over the Blue Jays with one game to play on May 4.

Elimination game - Third vs Brewers - Thursday, May 9at 5 pm.

Game 1 series - Winner vs Rangers - Saturday, May 11 at 2:30 pm.

Girls Soft Ball - Pennant winner - Distributors. Second place - T.B.D between Spice Girls and Crushers, both tied with identical records. Third place - T.B.D. - but both have qualified for the playoffs.

Elimination game - Crushers vs Spice Girls - Wednesday, May 8 at 7 pm.

Game 1 series - Winner vs Distributors - Monday, May 13 at 6:30 pm.
