World Bowling: Bahamas women close out play

COMPETITION for Team Bahamas at the 2019 Women’s World Bowling Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada, has come to a close.

While there is still team bowling to be completed, with only four bowlers (team requires five), they will only be bowling for ‘scores’ and the All Event Division. With a 51st place finish in the trios on Monday night, their run at the prestigious tournament of the world’s best in bowling is all but over.

The team of Camille Burnside, Cheryl Bevans, Shanta Kerr-Richardson and Tara Culmer finished with a total of 2,767 pins.

Tyrone Knowles was the manager and coach.

Team Columbia consisting of Juliana Franco, Clara Guerrero and Maria Rodriguez stunned the United States with an outstanding and impressive 4,113 total pins to finish first overall in team play with a 228.50 team average. Mexico came in second with total pins of 4,010. The United States finished third with a 3,978 pin fall.

Based on the format, there appears to be a semi-finals and final later in the week.
