Deveaux plays with Knowles and Owlz

TRENT Deveaux advanced within the Los Angeles Angels organisation and joined D’Shawn Knowles with the Orem Owlz in the Pioneer League.

The duo appeared as teammates last night in the Owlz 10-8 loss to Tod Isaacs Jr and the Grand Junction Rockies.

Knowles went 2-4 with one double, three RBI and scored one run while Deveaux also scored a run.Deveaux advanced to the Pioneer League for the first time after 52 games in the Arizona Rookie League this season. He hit.241 with 53 hits, 23 RBI, 15 doubles, four triples, six home runs, 14 stolen bases, a .332 OBP and a .994 OPS.

The 19-year-old is currently listed as No. 15 on the Angels’ list of top 30 prospects and was voted one of the fastest players in all of the minor leagues by Baseball America. He improved on his 2018 AZL tenure when appeared in 44 games and hit .199 with a .309 OBP, .556 OPS with 11 RBI, 20 runs scored, seven stolen bases and one home run.

Knowles continues to be a breakout star for the Angels this season and received his first league-wide recognition at the pro level.

He was named to the Pioneer League’s All-Star Game roster for their midseason matchup against the Class A Short Season Northwest League.

At one point in the season, Knowles produced a career-high nine game hit streak and continues to deliver standout performances for the Owlz.

Through 55 games this season, he is hitting .236 with a .305 OBP, .671 OPS with 51 hits, 10 doubles, three triples, four home runs, 25 RBI and five stolen bases.

Knowles, 18, returned to the Orem Owlz for his first full season with the club and is currently listed as the No.10 prospect in the Angels’ farm system.

After 30 games in the Arizona League last season, Knowles received his first promotion within the Angels franchise. He hit .301 with a .385 OBP, .765 OPS with 14 RBI, 19 runs scored seven stolen bases and one home run. He was then assigned to the Owlz and continued his production for the remainder of the season.

With the Owlz, he appeared in 28 games and hit .321 with a .398 OBP, .949 OPS with 15 RBI, 27 runs scored, two stolen bases and four home runs.
