Rev Stephen Smith and the Ebenezer Union Baptist family of Exuma began the 2019 year will a special service worshipping on the park.

The stage was lit up with bright lights and the sound system was impressive, echoing with the word of God throughout the Exuma communities, including Farmer’s Hill, Old Place and the residences of Sandal’s employees.

The evening was filled with heartfelt testimonies by Deacon Hezekiah Smith, a fourth stage prostrate cancer survivor, and Daphne Ferguson, who lost her mother, the late Deaconess Oveta Strachan. Both spoke of the goodness, mercy and love that they experienced from knowing and believing in the power of God. Olympian Shenique “Q” Ferguson also attended and encouraged all in attendance to always have a dream and stick with it. “Fight for what you want. Make small goals and continue with realistic goals to reach your major target,” she said.

Young Kaymika Milford confidently sang “I Look To You”, while the Ebenezer Praise Team and musicians performed songs of thanksgiving. The guest soloist for the evening was Al Gibson.

Rev Smith all who came out to the event to brace themselves for the new year and to ensure that they accept God’s free gift of eternal life. He also said that 2019 is God’s gift of life, hope and strength to all.

Rev Dr Stafford Munnings prayed for those at the altar and gave a New Year’s blessing.

Dillon “D-Mac” McKenzie and his team provided the stage and sound equipment, while Glenroy Munroe and his team supplied the catering.
