THE Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association (BLTA) congratulates the Abaco Tennis Association (ATA) for hosting a successful summer tournament this past week.
The Abaco Tennis Summer Camp was held in Forest Heights, Abaco.
Recently, BLTA “Play Tennis Course” certified coaches Sharon Greene and Keith Greene assisted president Cameel McDonald along with other coaches as they led a group of 37 kids in the rudiments of tennis.
The dedicated individuals who coached during the week besides the guest coaches were Chavonne Reid, Leon Pinder, Tito Russell, Vernon Russell, Shawn Lightbourne, Macquel McDonald, Cameel McDonald and Roodatram Kawalram.
“We recognise a need to engage the younger generation in a positive outlet through the medium of tennis, “ said BLTA president Darnette Weir as she applauded the efforts and energies of the ATA.
McDonald has pledged that this will be the first of many tennis summer camps in Abaco by the ATA.
