JONQUEL Jones and the Connecticut Sun continued their recent struggles, lost a fourth consecutive game and had their home winning streak broken.

Jones had a season-low five points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots in the Sun's 74-71 loss to the Minnesota Lynx at the Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday night.

The Sun had won a franchise-record 13 straight home games before the loss to the Lynx and fell to 9-5, second in the Eastern Conference.

Jones shot just 2-10 from the field and was 0-4 from beyond the arc.

Minnesota trailed 58-54 entering the fourth quarter but went ahead for good with just over seven minutes left to play in the game.

A close contest throughout, seven points was the largest lead for either team in a game that featured 37 turnovers, 21 from the Sun.

The Sun had an opportunity to tie the game at 70 but missed an opportunity at the line.

Connecticut returns to the road against the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday, July 10.

The Sun's last win came against the Dream on June 21.

Since then they dropped games to the Chicago Sky (93-75), Dallas Wings (74-73), Washington Mystics (102-59) and the Lynx.

Jones has posted averages of 15.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game on 47 per cent shooting from the field and a career high 76 per cent from the free throw line.

She currently leads the WNBA in rebounds and blocked shots while ranks tenth in scoring.

Jones is one of the front runners for All-Star and MVP consideration.

WNBA All-Star Voting 2019, presented by Google, is now open and will conclude on Tuesday, July 9 at 2 pm. This is the first season fans will be able to vote by searching on Google. Fans will also be able to vote via the WNBA App and WNBA.com

AT&T WNBA All-Star 2019 will be played on Saturday, July 27 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The 16th WNBA All-Star Game will be televised live by ABC at 3:30 pm.

The 10 All-Star starters, including the two captains, will be revealed on Thursday, July 11.

After the announcement of the starters, the WNBA's head coaches will select the 12 reserves.

Coaches will vote for three guards, five frontcourt players and four players at either position regardless of conference. The reserves will be announced on Monday, July 15.
