For over three decades the Calvary Deliverance Church has been ministering the gospel and changing lives. This will be celebrated in a major way as the church gets set to recognise its 37th year with a series of special services next week.

Bishop James Newry and Elder Queenie Newry, along with the leadership and members of Calvary Deliverance Church, are inviting the general public to observe another "spiritually blessed year" in the church's existence during its annual convention scheduled for July 28-31. This year's conference promises to be "soul-rattling as the Word of God shakes within you," said church members.

Speakers will include Suffragan Bishop Dr Sharon Rolle of Transformation Ministries International, Bishop Barrington Smith of Kingdom Life Ministries in Ontario Canada, very Pastor Mark Barrett and Bishop James Newry of Calvary Deliverance Church.

Additionally, the music ministry of Edison Sumner and VOP, the Bahama Brass Band, Shaback, the Tabernacle Concert Choir, Minister Latasha Taylor, and Calvary Deliverance's Children's Choir, Praise Team and Fine Arts Ministry will also be performing during the service.

The theme for this year's conference is "Prayers That Make the Church Bold", derived from 2 Chronicles 7:12-15, Daniel 6-10, Acts 4:31-32.

The purpose for this year's theme is to encourage the power of prayer.

"It is time for us to increase our walk in faith, by developing a spirit-filled relationship with God through prayer. As the Word of God declares in 2 Chronicles 7:12-15: 'If we humble ourselves and pray; He will forgive us our sins and heal our land'."

"Acts 4:31-32 reminds us that being faithful and earnest within our prayer life allows us to experience the power of the Holy Ghost, thus giving us the ability to speak the Word of God boldly. It is time for the church to step forth with boldness and exemplify the power of prayer," said a press statement from Calvary Deliverance. "God continues to allow us to be trusted stewards of His Word.

"The leadership and membership of Calvary Deliverance are eternally grateful to follow the paths of giants in Christ such as Rev Mother Clementina Stubbs, Rev Cornelius Stubbs, Elder Bursil Brown, Bishop V G Clarke, and now Bishop James Newry."
