THE Democratic National Alliance held a press conference on the steps of the House of Assembly yesterday, again calling for a vote of no confidence to be moved against the Minnis administration.
“We are asking for the members that we sent to this honorable House that we are standing before right now to do the right thing and to put forward a motion of no confidence in Prime Minister Minnis and the FNM government,” DNA leader Arinthia Komolafe said, flanked by party members.
She said as the third party canvasses the country, its members hear common complaints from Bahamians: that they are “tired, frustrated” and afraid of victimisation.
The press conference was cut short after security at the House of Assembly informed the DNA members that they could not assemble on the steps of Parliament and block parliamentarians from entering the the building.
On Tuesday, the DNA launched its 10 days of activism calling for transparency in governance.
At that time, the party raised issues with the government leasing portions of Town Centre Mall, which is partly owned by St Anne’s MP Brent Symonette, for the relocation of the General Post Office.
