JAZZ Chisholm hit his team leading 12th home run of the season for the Jackson Generals and concluded a six-game series against the Chattanooga Lookouts with a 5-4 win.

Chisholm ranks second in the Double A Southern League in home runs, two off the league leading pace of 14 by the Lookouts’ Ibandel Isabel.

The teams finished the series with a 3-3 split and the Generals remained just a game behind Lucius Fox’ Montgomery Biscuits for the top spot in the North Division and two games ahead of the Lookouts.

Chisholm got the scoring started with his two run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning to give the Generals an early lead. The Lookouts would respond in the fifth to tie the game at two and took a 4-2 lead into the bottom of the ninth inning.

Ben DeLuzio hit a walk-off single to plate Pavin Smith with two outs in the ninth inning. Smith hit an RBI single to cut the deficit to one, Chisholm drew a walk to load the bases and Jeffrey Baez followed with another single to tie the game before DeLuzio’s late-game heroics.

In 46 games with the Generals this season, Chisholm continues to make the adjustment to Double A baseball. He is hitting .169 with an .715 OPS, .287 OBP and .428 slugging percentage. He also totalled 28 hits, three doubles, two triples, with 22 RBI, 29 runs scored and four stolen bases.

Chisholm was listed at No.55 overall in MLB Pipeline’s Top 100. He was also one of 12 shortstops and 32 international signees on the list representing 10 countries. Chisholm was also recently listed as one of the top 10 shortstop prospects in all of the minor leagues by MLB Pipeline.

A Midwest League midseason All-Star last season with the Kane County Cougars in Single A-Advanced, he led all D-backs farm system players in home runs, and ranked among the leaders in runs (3rd), triples (T-5th), RBI (7th), slugging pct. (8th) and walks (T-9th).

Anfernee Seymour and the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp also had a come-from-behind win Saturday night, 7-6 over the Mobile Baybears.

The Jumbo Shrimp trailed 5-0 going to the bottom of the seventh. Seymour helped to start the rally with his RBI single that put Jacksonville within 5-2. They would score all seven runs over the final three innings, including three runs in the bottom of the ninth, capped by a walk off single from Justin Twine.

In 38 games this season, Seymour is hitting .237 with a .546 OPS. He has totalled 23 hits, with six RBI, 10 runs scored and four stolen bases.

Lucius Fox and the Montgomery Biscuits concluded their series against the Birmingham Barons with a 12-7 win.
