DHL Express, the global delivery company, has opened a new 9,578 square foot facility in Nassau to integrate its Bahamian operations into one location.
It has moved to consolidate pick-up and delivery operations, international gateway and country office operations under one roof to provide better customer service and seamless processing.
“By combining all three functions in the same building, DHL will be better able to manage customer shipping growth, while simultaneously offering unparalleled service for existing Bahamian business customers, as well as tourists visiting the islands,” said DHL Bahamas country manager, Loukishia Cooper.
DHL Express has on-site Customs clearance at its own facility, ensuring deliveries occur as quickly as possible. The full-service DHL Express facility, located at the Solomon’s Building inSuite 2A on the East-West Highway, also includes:
• A larger, state-of-the-art operational facility, supported local pick-up and delivery routes
• A centralised location to drop off and pick-up passports, and pay associated fees (as part of an agreement with the US Embassy in Nassau)
“The facility manages a wide range of shipped items – from golf clubs and suitcases to wedding dresses, important documents and critical parts for yachts docked in the harbours,” said Cooper. “By integrating our efforts in one location, including on-site Customs clearance, we’ve developed an innovative solution that better-serves customers, enabling DHL to deliver packages earlier and more efficiently.”
The facility also houses the sales, human resources, accounting and finance departments that comprise The Bahamas country office. Cooper added: “We’re excited to enhance our quality of services, speeding customer shipments with all of our operations under one roof.”
