TEENS looking for wholesome, positive fun during this long holiday weekend may find a dose of it during The Glory Seekers Weekend 2019.

Presented by Team Glory Seekers, a group out of the Shekinah Family Word Centre, the event seeks to not only present young people with a fun time, but with an experience that also leaves them spiritually fulfilled.

Team Glory Seekers is a conglomerate of passionate and dedicated young people comprised of worship leaders, ministers and intercessors who are dedicated to relentlessly pursuing the presence and power of God.

This year’s event has been dubbed “Glory Seekers Weekend 2019” and will feature two power-packed days of spiritual uplifting and enrichment.

The “Glow-ry”, a teen glow party, will be held at the Centre, located at #24 Quakoo Street, and will be a time of fun, games, relaxation and fellowship for teens. The night will feature DJ Godson, Karrington McKenzie, Stacs, United Kingdom Ministers and more.

Following this event, the “Night of Worship” will be held on June 8 at 6.30pm. The Centre hopes to attract hundreds from around the island who will gather at Greater Bethel Cathedral on Faith Way, off Blue Hill Road.

The “Night of Worship” will feature Benita Jones from Atlanta, Georgia; Trisha Green; Vanderson Barnett; Latasha Taylor, and a host of other local worship leaders and psalmists who will come together for a time of refreshing in the presence of God.

“During this night, we will honour three persons who are relentless in their service to the worship and prayer ministry in the Bahamas. These persons include Pastor Fanchon Braynen, Minister Tanya Duncombe and Minister Eunice Rolle,” said Charles Smith, administrator at the Centre.

“These three women are pioneers in their own right and we thought it robbery to not celebrate their faithfulness to the work of the ministry.”

It is the aim of the Centre to provide a space for people to experience God in new and exciting ways through intentional, impassioned and fervent prayer, praise and worship, Mr Smith told Tribune Religion.

“We believe that through these times of seeking as a nation, we will see healing take place. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says: ‘If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.’ Our land is in dire need of healing. It is our belief that when we as a nation gather during these set times of worship and prayer, heaven will hear us and our land will be the better for it.”

Mr Smith said the experience will be life-changing and those in attendance can expect “miracles, signs and wonders”.

“There will be a demonstration of the magnitude of God’s presence, power and love. He will show up and we are assured that when He comes, everything that He is comes along with him. This event serves as a clarion call for those in need of healing and breakthrough. You are guaranteed to leave being made whole,” he said.

“As the visionary for this event, it is my hope that persons would leave assured that God is real and his transformative power and love is within arm’s reach. I want persons to leave knowing that no matter where they are in life, God sees them and He knows them and it is His desire for them to live an abundant life. As this is our year of ‘The Relentless Pursuit’, I yearn to see persons live a life of restoration and freedom; an awakened life, purpose-driven life – all due to our encounter with God that will take place during this event.”

The next big event for Team Glory Seekers is its Back To School Jamboree in late August where the group will supply children in the inner-city communities with the necessary paraphernalia for the new school year.

“This will be the first of many community outreach initiatives. Furthermore, we are making preparations to host our live album recording in early 2020 with all original music from our team members. It’s going to be big. I believe that we are on the precipice of something great, and the nations of the world will see that when you serve God nothing will be impossible,” said Mr Smith.
