BAHAMAS Roadmasters held their 4th Annual Midnight Madness Fun Run/Walk on Friday, June 7. The event was a fun run/walk fundraiser which started and ended at Arawak Cay in Nassau, Bahamas.
Participants had the option to take part in the 5k marathon which looped to “Go Slow Bend” and back to Arawak Cay, or the 10k which looped to the second round-a-bout west of Bahamas Development Bank, and back.
Every year, part proceeds from the fundraiser are donated to a different charity. St Anselm’s Breakfast for School Children programme was this year’s recipient. “It was a very successful event,” said Marcel Major, president of Bahamas Roadmasters.
“We had about 250 people that showed up. We look forward to another year and we’re happy we were able to pull this off with great success,” he said.
Said Charles Johnson, senior manager responsible for motor underwriting and production of new business, J.S. Johnson & Company Ltd:
“This year on the 100th anniversary of JS Johnson, we have decided to be the major sponsor of this event. It’s a fun occasion.
“There will be some who will be doing competitive running but for the majority of persons, they are out here with their kids and they just want to enjoy running or walking at midnight.
“JS Johnson is really pleased to be a part of this, promoting a healthy lifestyle.”
