By MINISTER KEITH EVANS
Revival is definitely achievable for the Bahamas, and is something that we must pray for. We are at the threshold of total depravity spiritually. Social media has taken over our minds and hearts. The LGBT community continues to assert itself, and teenage delinquency, murders and rapes continue to be affecting us on all levels of society.
We must repent and believe in the Gospel! We are too small a country to be this corrupt and wicked. Where are the watchmen who are supposed to be watching in prayer. The Church has lost its integrity as a pillar to which wayward men can look. Pastors are sending WhatsApp explicit, indecent messages to women who are not their wives. Witchcraft is being condoned by congregants, and even practiced by some.
Isaiah 60:1-3 says: "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and His glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and Kings to the brightness of thy rising."
The Church needs to return back to the glory of God. Only then can we experience a move of God. We cannot think that we're all right, when in fact we are in a deplorable state. I'm praying that the Lord sends a mighty revival to save all 400,000 of us. All of us! The unchurched scoff at the plethora of immoral acts done by pastors and church leaders alike. Scandals that are being caused by many in the name of Jesus, too many to mention. Lord save us! If we want God to move in the Bahamian Church, He must first start with us, the clergy! After all, we're only human, right? Wrong! God holds the Church to a higher standard of holy living. None of us as believers should be even dabbling in sin; there is no excuse. In order for revival to occur in the Bahamas, we must come clean before the holy God. Remember the days when we all spent Sundays in God's house? Remember the days when one murder was one too many? Remember the days when we feared God and loved our neighbours? God please send us a revival!
