National Bowling Championships set to begin March 31 at Mario’s

THE Bahamas Bowling Federation (BBF) is pleased to announce that between March 31 and April 14, the 2019 Bahamas National Bowling Championships is scheduled to be held at Mario’s Bowling and Entertainment Palace.

The federation advises interested persons that if they are planning on participating, they can e-mail their completed application directly to either ylhoyte@yahoo.com or kotar_14@hotmail (Rashad McCardy) - the tournament directors.

In the men’s division, there will be categories A-E and, in the women’s division, there will be categories A-D.

These categories will be based on league averages of bowlers registered with the federation through the local associations.

The BBF’s objective is to divide the male bowlers evenly between the five categories and the female bowlers evenly between the four categories.

Bowlers must also note that only Bahamian citizens, permanent residents and persons who have residency in the Bahamas for six months or more as at March 29, 2019 are eligible to compete.

The entry fee is $175. The registration deadline is Friday, March 29 and the payment deadline is Friday, March 29.

Absolutely no registration will be accepted after March 29.

Only in an emergency, if a competitor cannot compete in the championships, will a refund be considered. All notices must be addressed in writing to the tournament director of the BBF.

All cheques are to be made payable to the Bahamas Bowling Federation.

All cash payments are to be made directly to BBF representatives Cynthia Edgecombe or Derrick Burrows.

Wednesday, April 3 @ 7 pm - Men’s Categories A, B & C; Women’s Categories A & B.

Saturday, April 6 @ 2 pm - Make up day.

Sunday, April 7 @ 4 pm - Men’s Categories D & E; Women’s Categories C & D.

Monday, April 8 @ 7 pm - Men’s Categories A, B & C; Women’s Categories A & B.

Wednesday, April 10 @ 7 pm - Men’s Categories D & E; Women’s Categories C & D.

Saturday, April 13 @ 11 am - Top 15 Men and Women (5 Games across 4 lanes).

Sunday, April 14 @ 1 pm - Championship Step-Ladder Finals (Top 5 Men and Women).

In addition, practice will commence 15 minutes before the start of each shift.

Bowlers who are late for a shift will commence bowling in the current frame.
