COACH Donnie Culmer and his defending champions Bee’s Trucking Destroyers will take a 2-1 lead into game four of their New Providence Women’s Basketball Association’s best-of-five championship series against the Foxxy Angels.
In game three on Saturday night at the DW Davis Gymnasium, the Destroyers clobbered the Angels, coached by Anthony Swaby, 52-43.
The pivotal game four is scheduled to be played at 7:30pm on Tuesday.
If necessary, the fifth and deciding game will take place on Thursday night.
Britinique Harrison led the attack with 12 points, 17 rebounds, four block shots, three steals and two assists.
Sherelle Cash stepped it up with 12 points as well to go along with 10 rebounds, three steals and an assist.
Ashley Moss produced nine points, 10 rebounds, three blocks, two steals and two assists and Chrishandra Rahming added eight points and four rebounds as the veteran player carried the lead.
The Angels, the youngest team in the league, got 12 points and six rebounds from Antonicia Moultrie off the bench.
Denika Lightbourne was the only other player in double figures with 10 points, seven rebounds and five steals.
Latavia Brennen contributed nine points, 12 rebounds, four steals, two blocks and an assist, Veronique Charlton chipped in with four points, nine rebounds, four steals and two assists and Michelle Butler added four points, eight rebounds and four blocks.
Bees Trucking came from a 12-11 deficit at the end of the first quarter to go up 25-23 at the half. They led 43-37 at the end of the third and outscored Foxxy Angels 9-6 in the fourth to hold onto the win.
The Destroyers won the opener of the series 64-60, but the Angels responded to take game two 76-65 to even the series at 1-1.
