THE University of The Bahamas women’s volleyball programme is all set to host a recruitment exercise this Friday and Saturday at the Kendal Isaacs gym. The sessions start at 6:30pm on both nights.

Coaches and administrators will be evaluating players ahead of the upcoming volleyball season.

Women’s head volleyball coach Raymond Wilson said he’s looking for a diamond in the rough who is looking for a quality education at The University of the Bahamas.

“We want players to know that they can get the same quality education and the same sporting experience right here at home instead of abroad,” he said.

Coach Wilson said he’s looking to build the system at UB. “We want quality players who can come in and be a part of the team chemistry that we are trying to build here,” he said. “We need players on the court who can make serious contributions to the programme and we’re looking for players who are willing to be a part of a team.”

The programme will also be able to offer some scholarship opportunities for eligible players.

“We hopefully can keep some of our players local so they can not only come to UB and get an education but also play sports while you’re home,” he added.
