Sherika Brown is encouraging women to discover the power in their femininity as she readies to host her latest event, “Leading in Stilettos”, this month.
She has been hosting special conferences to honour women’s achievements for the past 11 years.
“I am always inspired when I host an event to impact and make a life-changing difference in the lives of individuals,” she told Tribune Woman.
“The testimonies are too numerous to count. Lives have changed because of events that I have hosted and it is my passion to make a difference. I am deeply fulfilled when that happens.”
Ms Brown’s “Leading In Stilettos” will take place on March 30 at Atlantis, from 9:30am to 3 pm. The event, she said, will feature 16 dynamic speakers and panellists, addressing topics such as “Balancing Leadership and Marriage”, “Climbing the Corporate Ladder the Right Way”, “The Power of the Feminine Image and Appearance”, “The Role of Women in Leadership”, “The Power of Your Femininity in Relationships”, and “Overcoming the Challenges of Being a Woman in Leadership”.
“This is a women’s empowerment conference for women at large, but more specifically for women in leadership, those who are emerging and those who aspire to be. It is designed to address the needs, concerns, challenges, and strengths of the woman leader – women who are affecting change spiritually, socially, economically, women who simply enjoy and appreciate what makes them women,” said Ms Brown.
Ms Brown said she has observed some of the challenges that women leaders encounter as they seek to make a difference in the world.
“We are now in a time where more women are stepping to the forefront to affect change and transformation in so many areas and walks of life. Because of that I believe it is critical that women understand how to do it the right way while we strengthen our relationships with men and partner with them. I want to remind women of our distinction and our value: our distinction and value is our femininity. The event will have several speakers from various walks of life such as marriage and family, church, government, business and career, fashion et cetera. It will include a panel discussion and booth displays where business owners will have the opportunity to showcase their products,” she said.
Ms Brown said she is looking forward to hearing from each speaker, networking with so women and making a difference in the lives of the current and the next generation of women leaders.
